Razz.

I can't believe my first post is about razz. A little background info might be helpful;

Wednesday nights a group of us poker crazies in YK get together to play holdem for weekly points contributing 10% of the pot to a pool for a freeroll event at the end of the 'session'. This session usually spans a few months.

Some notes on the regular game structure;
  • Format: NL Texas Holdem
  • Starting Chips: 100
  • Buy-in: $20 Rebuy for 2 hrs + Add on after 2 hrs
  • Starting Time: 7pm
  • Ending Time: This is the wack part, if we do not have a winner at 11:15 we do a chip count.
  • Structure:
    • 1-2, 30min
    • 2-4, 30min
    • 3-6, 30min
    • 4-8, 30min
    • 5-10, 30min
    • 10-20, 45min
    • 20-40, 45min
    • 40-80, 15min
  • The game is generally fairly loose and really aggressive as our regulars play alot of poker week-in and week-out with the same group.
So, now to Razz, as a break from the monotony of NL Holdem (and between 'sessions') we decided to play 7-handed razz last night. We did not change the structure. This resulted in NL Razz (uncommon) with no antes (crazy).

Long story short; we had a lot of grumpy people, one out pre-freezeout (an extremely rare occurence), a player in for $200, and a total nightly kitty of ~$520.

In retrospect, I played well but unforunately I just picked up some great hands on the last 2 streets! :-(

Next week is 7-card Stud; I will not be playing as I'm off to Sudbury to bowl in the C5PBA Team event. Good luck me!

In future I will strive to reproduce some hands here for future reflection.
